A perfect Saturday.

We slept in. That is perfection in itself. Next was pumpkin pancakes, french pressed coffee and grapefruits. After breakfast we bundled up and headed out for an adventure. On our way we passed an Italian Restaurant that I think may be the location of the night the three of decided to move to VA (after many glasses of wine). Next time you are in the area we should go for dinner and see if it actually is the same place. Does La Stalla ring a bell?

We spent a couple of hours walking along the canal & Delaware River by New Hope. We had the whole trail to ourselves. Parts of the canal were even frozen over. Keith and the pups did some improv ice skating. These days walking seems to take all my coordination skills and I chose to stay on the solid ground. After our walk we headed into New Hope for a late lunch at Karla's Cafe. We sipped coffee to warm up and talked about what to name this baby girl, (we have a few names we really like) excitement & fear about parenthood and how good life is right now.

In the evening we headed over to MPAC to hear Will Dailey and his band sing. He is a singer song writer from Boston. Some of our friends went to hear him play at The World Cafe this summer and chatted with him after the show. Doug (our friend and fellow housemaster) mentioned how awesome it would be if Will & his band came to speak to the high school students as part of this speaker series the school does. Will thought it was a great idea so last night we got to listen to them play (for free). They would play a few songs then answers questions. Will was a funny, eloquent and thoughtful speaker and he and his band ROCKED! Keith and I ended up buying several of his cds and got the whole band to sign one after the show. (We've been listening to his music all day - good stuff).

Amid the hustle and rumble of life I am so thankful for our perfect Saturday.
Oceans of love to you both, M&K.
